Summary:

A compact, nonbulky and light weight device, your baby won’t notice it is there. It detects the rise and fall of the baby’s tummy so is an accurate sensor of how the baby is doing. After 20 seconds an alarm will sound if your baby stops breathing and this is loud enough to wake you. Also if the baby’s movements are weak or he/she appears to be struggling the alarm will sound alerting you to the problem.

The Snuza Go Movement Monitor is a small compact sensor monitor that fits on the baby’s diaper. It’s made of thermoplastic and liquid silicone. Simply attach the Snuza to the center of the baby’s diaper and set them on their back. The Snuza go will vibrate gently if your child stops moving for 15 seconds jolting the baby into breathing again. It will do this 3 times and ten sound the alarm to alert you. The alarm will also sound after 20 seconds of no movement alerting you to the problem and danger.

Editors’ Hand On Review

The snuza movement monitor senses the rise and fall of the baby’s abdomen and so tracks his/her breathing. False alarms are rare and only occur if you have knocked the sensor off the diaper yourself. Or perhaps if the diaper was loose. The Snuza go fits firmly and comfortably to the baby’s diaper and is unlikely to come loose unless you have fastened the baby’s diaper too loosely.

Reliability

For peace of mind and a few hours of good sleep per night, you can’t beat this device. A constant worry for parents of young babies is SIDS, (Sudden infant death Syndrome). Many parents feel they dare not sleep at all at night. However with the Snuza Go, you can dare to relax a little.  The monitor will also sound an alarm if your baby’s movements are weak or if the baby appears to be struggling. It is sensitive to all movement in the proximity so is not recommended for strollers or car seats.

However, if you put the child down in its crib or bassinette during the day, you can get on with things with less worry. The Snuza Go is compact not bulky and completely mobile. It weighs just 0.12 lbs and the dimensions are 3.45 x 1.97 x 1.18 inches. It takes AAA batteries and is not Bluetooth operated.

If you are worried about SIDS and want to ensure your child is protected wherever you lay them down to sleep in the house then this is the alarm for you. Because it picks up movement n the vicinity it is not good for sharing a bed either with you or another older infant. Also, it is not recommended for use in a stroller or car seat.
